Golden Krust makes presentations to Students in Jamaica
Million Dollar Support: Lowell Hawthorne (center), Chairman of the Partnership Board of the American Foundation for the University of the West Indies (AFUWI) presented a check for $1 million Jamaican dollars to Professor Gordon Shirley - Principal of the University of the West Indies (2nd left) at a visit made to the campus last week which represented donations made by supporters in the US Diaspora to AFUWI's Adopt-A-Student Program initiated by Mr. Hawthorne. Surrounding both men are the recipients of the Golden Krust Scholarship at UWI who are current students at the institution. They Just Keep On Giving: Lowell & Lorna Hawthorne (center), Co-Founders of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill recently paid a visit to the Medina All Age School in the rural town of Medina located in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica to present two 2 Hewlett Packard desktop computers to the school which also happens to be Lorna's alma mater. Principal Christophe Russell (3rd right) accepted the gift on behalf of the grateful students and teachers at this institution.
