Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill, the nation's largest and fastest growing Caribbean franchise in the United States will be joining the universal effort to raise much needed assistance for the people of Haiti by embarking on a can and cash drive at each of its 120 locations nationwide.
President and CEO, Lowell Hawthorne said he is saddened to see and learn of the devastation that has taken place in the country of Haiti and feels that as a leading voice in the Caribbean American community, Golden Krust must do its part to reach out to our brothers and sisters who are in desperate need of our assistance. Given the reality that our company has such a strong and reputable presence in the Caribbean community, we can have far reaching impact that will enable us to galvanize the support of our customers for this urgent and dire situation he said. Mr. Hawthorne also added that for every dollar collected towards the relief effort over a period of sixty days throughout the Golden Krust system, the company will double that amount and donate the funds towards the Haitian relief efforts.
Golden Krust will be working closely with the Haitian and Jamaican Consulates to ensure that the food and funds collected will go directly to those in need. The relief initiative will begin in force during the week of January 25th. Customers and well-wishers are being encouraged to join hearts and hands to show our solidarity during this tragic time.
